The Degree Programme in Nursing educates professional nurses, who are able to care for, help, support and rehabilitate patients of all ages. Nurses are continuously looking after their patients’ needs and their work requires them to be independent and responsible.

Nurses should develop interpersonal, communication and management skills and possess decision-making abilities. In addition to these competences, nurses are to be responsible; diligent and accurate in order to ensure patient safety.

The programme is suitable for students who are interested in studying in a multicultural group. Language and communication skills are highlighted during throughout the whole programme. The students should be able to communicate in Finnish at the end of their studies. Thus, the degree programme offers the students the expertise to work both in Finland and in an international environment.

In addition to Nursing Science-based professional studies, the studies also include languages, IT, welfare entrepreneurship and other basic studies. Advanced professional studies strengthen the knowledge and skills of nursing in different areas.
